We did a Beach Wedding in Scotland!
Our diary is open and twitching waiting for destination wedding bookings. In the meantime we do love our Scottish beach weddings, we’ve done one in Mull, a couple on the west coast of Scotland and this weekend was on the east coast at Harvest Moon near Dunbar.
We’ve holidayed at the resort with some other mums and all our kids in the fantastic treehouses, my youngest has it in his “top 5 holidays” It felt good to go back and grab that wheelbarrow in the car park, but this time it was to fill it with our kits, not our overnight bags.
Our bride Poppy had the laid-back optimistic personality you need to be married outside of Scotland (I was that woman 11 years ago)! We arrived at the cottage to do everyone’s hair and makeup which was a step up from the last wedding we did there in one of the safari tents (terrible lighting for makeup application).
As is the norm on a wedding morning there’s always a lot going on in the room which adds to the atmosphere although I’m sure Poppy’s dog didn’t enjoy me stepping on him several times! We were glad everyone decided to have hair-ups and rusty red lipstick to contrast the pale grey dresses.
